Sexual assault cases: Abdullah El-Haddad, Ramzy Ajem, and Mohamed Mahmoud

Abdullah El-Haddad and the Egyptian sisters

Sexual assault cases involving the Egyptian sisters and Abdullah el-Haddad are well documented by Abdul Aziz Suraqah, a former mureed. Supporting evidence very clearly highlights verbal abuse, thuggery, and outright lies by Ramzy Ajem and Mohamed Mahmoud as they tried to navigate these statements.

Risalah Foundation - Oct 2019 Response

Risalah Foundation posted a statement on Oct 10, 2019 signed by Omair Syed as "Chairman" of the Board.

Lies (just in this one statement!):

  • Lie #1: Omair Syed is not the Chairman of the Board. He is Ramzy's "student", a mureed operating on Ramzy's instructions. He won't officially govern Ramzy and the board. He is the "paper" Chairman as they say in unscrupulous circles. Several witnesses available to confirm.

  • Lie #2: Risalah Foundation has never had a real functional board. Having a real board will make it difficult for Ramzy Ajem to control Risalah Foundation. Lots of oversight. There is design intentionality here.

  • Lie #3: The statement concludes that "there has been no misconduct by our Resident Scholar (RImam Ramzy Ajem)..." A conclusion without an official investigation? Who did the investigation? A proper investigation is impossible to have occured between the short time those emails were sent out to the community and the publishing of this statement. As well, none of the victims were spoken to.

  • Lie #4: "... allegations of misconduct occurring overseas have been directed towards a scholar, who has no formal association with Risalah Foundation or Masjid Vaughan."
My inbox is littered with more evidence.

  • Lie #5: "... We adhere to the principles of due process in verifying allegations prior to making judgements ..." Also a lie. If it were true, we would have seen a formal investigation.

The entire statement is nothing but words. Just optics. Empty, like everything else.

Saying the right words instead of doing the right things.
